Shrub or tree to 5 m high. (WorldWideWattle ver. 2)

Grows in sand, gravel and loam, usually over sandstone, in dry sclerophyll forest and heath. (WorldWideWattle ver. 2)

An interesting and eye-catching wattle especially when recovering from fire. It has much potential in rehabilitation. Unfortunately the supply of its seed is adversley affected by limitation of water in the drier parts of its range and by moths whose larvae predate heavily on the seed in the coastal parts of its range. Inflorescences are globular and a rich golden colour.
